Adopt a Dog in Dubai

While it’s easy to get swept up in the excitement of adopting a new best friend, there are many legal and ethical issues to keep in mind. While the process may seem simple, the first step is learning about local rules. Even the simplest process can be derailed if a hurdle arises along the way. To avoid this, residents of the UAE must become familiar with the UAE’s animal ownership laws. Among these laws is Federal Law No. 22 of 2016. It also requires residents of the UAE to obtain a license from the local authorities.

Center for Stray Dogs

The Abu Dhabi Animal Welfare Centre was tens of thousands of dirhams in debt when it froze its accounts last year. It took on all dogs that were caught by the municipality, increasing its costs. The center treated 110 animals, neutering them and vaccinating them. Then, the veterinarians decided to freeze the center’s accounts. That left the stray animals in need of care.
